Returning a rental car at DEN: use your supplier’s address
For your Denver airport rental car return, save your supplier’s return address and leave time for the shuttle back to the terminal.

You’re heading back for your flight, and your map is set to “Denver airport.” Before you pull away, check that destination: your DEN rental car return should be routed to your rental company’s return location, not simply to the passenger terminal. Save the address from your rental paperwork so you’re not sorting it out on the final approach.
For SIXT, the published return address is 23410 E 78th Ave. Its instructions say to follow the car-return signs when you arrive. Enter that full address in your map, then use the on-site signs to find the return entrance rather than assuming the navigation pin marks the correct driveway.
Hertz lists its DEN pickup and drop-off location at 24890 E 78th Ave, with branch hours shown as 24 hours every day. That’s a different address from SIXT, despite the same street name. If you’re returning overnight, ask at pickup how the handoff works; published opening hours aren’t a substitute for knowing where to leave the car and keys.
National lists its DEN location at 24530 E 78th Ave and publishes 24-hour return instructions. Those instructions say to park in the return lanes and place the keys on top of the dash; a return-lane or counter agent will help close the rental agreement. National also lists 24-hour transportation back to the airport. Use these instructions for National, not as a universal key-drop procedure for other suppliers.
Build the shuttle transfer into your flight-day plan. SIXT describes its branch as approximately a seven-minute courtesy-bus ride from the airport, but that isn’t your entire return-to-terminal time. Allow separately for finding the return lane, unloading, completing the return and waiting for the bus, as well as your airline’s check-in and security guidance.
Before leaving your lodging, check the fuel or charging requirement in your agreement and plan any needed stop. At the return lot, take photos of the vehicle’s condition and fuel or charge display, then check the trunk, door pockets and charging ports for your belongings. Ask how you’ll receive confirmation that the rental has been closed.
If your saved map pin, rental paperwork and a general airport listing disagree, confirm the return address directly with your rental branch before driving. A useful pickup-day habit is to save both the return address and branch phone number while you’re still at the counter. Your departure-day self will have one less thing to figure out.
