MIA rental car hours: the building and counter aren't the same
Check MIA rental car hours with your supplier before a late flight, because the Rental Car Center stays open even when some counters close.

Your flight lands late, and you’ve seen that Miami’s Rental Car Center is open 24 hours. Does that mean you can collect your car anytime? Not necessarily. MIA rental car hours depend on the company: the airport confirms that the building stays open around the clock, but some operators close between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Before you book, check the hours for the supplier’s Miami International Airport branch—not just its general customer-service hours. MIA specifically recommends confirming operating hours directly with your rental company. Ask whether the branch can complete your pickup at the time you expect to reach the counter.
Enterprise’s MIA listing shows why that distinction matters. It lists daily hours of 5 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. and says after-hours returns are available. That return option doesn't establish that after-hours pickup is available, so don’t treat the two as interchangeable.
Plan around counter arrival rather than touchdown. Leave room for getting off the plane, collecting checked bags if you have them, and reaching the Rental Car Center. The airport says you’ll access the MIA Mover station on the third level between the Dolphin and Flamingo garages. Enterprise’s counter is on the center’s fourth level.
If your timing looks tight, ask the branch what happens if your flight is delayed, whether it needs your flight number, and whom you should contact that night. Also ask whether a missed pickup would require a reservation change. Get answers for your specific booking rather than assuming an open building means someone will be waiting with keys.
Before departure, save the branch’s contact details and its instructions for a delayed arrival. If your flight slips beyond the confirmed pickup window, contact the supplier or the service handling your booking before heading to the counter. Have a backup plan for reaching your accommodation, and confirm how a next-day pickup would affect the reservation.
