McCarran on Your Las Vegas Rental Listing? Check Before Changing

If your Las Vegas rental listing says McCarran, compare the airport code, branch name and address before assuming you’ve chosen the wrong location.

Your flight says Harry Reid, but your Las Vegas rental listing says McCarran. Did you choose the wrong place? Not necessarily. Avis’s LAS page calls the branch “Harry Reid Intl Airport” while its address still includes “McCarran Rent A Car Center.” That name difference alone isn’t a reason to change your plans.

The useful check is whether the details point to the same branch. Harry Reid International Airport lists its Rent-A-Car Center at 7135 Gilespie Street. Avis lists its LAS branch at that same street address. In this case, the two names appear alongside matching location details—not evidence of two different pickup destinations.

Before booking, compare the listing’s airport code, rental-company branch name and full pickup address with the supplier’s location page. Don’t rely on the word “airport” or “Las Vegas” alone. If those details don’t line up, ask the supplier to confirm the pickup location before you proceed.

Also separate the branch’s name from how you reach it. An airport-branded rental location doesn’t necessarily mean a counter inside your arrival terminal: the airport says its Rent-A-Car Center is three miles south of the airport, and free shuttles connect the terminals with the center. Plan around the actual pickup instructions, not what the location name seems to promise.

If you’ve already booked and the naming worries you, have your confirmation ready and ask a specific question: “Is this reservation for your LAS branch at the pickup address shown here?” If there’s a genuine mismatch, contact the service you booked through about the next step. Avoid canceling and rebooking just to make the names look identical.

Save your confirmation and the supplier’s branch instructions together before you fly. For an Avis LAS listing with the details above, “McCarran” in the address isn’t by itself a red flag. Matching the branch and address is the more useful check—and gives you something concrete to resolve if another detail looks wrong.
