Late-night Hertz pickup at CLT: check the hours before you book

For a late-night Hertz pickup at CLT, compare the branch’s published hours with when you’ll actually reach the counter—not just when your flight lands.

Your flight lands late, and you’d rather collect your car than arrange another ride. For a late-night Hertz pickup at CLT, the useful answer is that the branch publishes overnight closing gaps—not round-the-clock service. Check your exact pickup date with the location before building your arrival plan around it.

Hertz currently lists hours of 6 a.m.–11:59 p.m. every day, plus a midnight–1 a.m. window Monday through Saturday. Sunday has only the 6 a.m.–11:59 p.m. window listed. Those midnight blocks make the calendar date important: if your flight arrives Saturday night but you’ll reach the counter after midnight, ask specifically about Sunday morning.

Your landing time isn’t your counter arrival time. Allow for getting off the plane, collecting checked bags and reaching the rental facility. CLT says the rental counters are in the Level 2 lobby of the Hourly Deck, reached from Arrivals/Baggage Claim through the Lower Level Walkway. Don’t plan on completing all of that in the final few minutes before closing.

Call the Hertz CLT location at +1 704-359-0114 with your flight date, scheduled arrival and expected counter arrival time. Ask whether pickup will be possible then, what happens if your flight is delayed and whether your reservation needs flight information added. Published branch hours alone don’t establish that someone will wait for a delayed flight.

If your arrival shifts, contact Hertz as soon as you know rather than waiting until you’re outside the counter. Have your reservation confirmation handy and ask for instructions tied to your booking. Don’t assume that an after-hours vehicle return option, if offered, also means you can collect a car after closing.

Prepare a fallback before departure: decide how you’d reach your accommodation without the car and ask whether a next-morning pickup would require changing your reservation. Hertz lists a 6 a.m. opening every day, but that doesn’t by itself confirm what will happen to your particular booking after a missed pickup.

Before you fly, save the branch number, your confirmation and any pickup instructions somewhere easy to find. CLT directs questions about reservations and availability to the rental companies, so the branch—not the airport’s general information desk—is the right place to resolve a tight late-night pickup.
