For a late-night car rental pickup at JFK, check your supplier’s hours and delay policy before choosing a pickup time.

Your flight lands late, and you’d rather not finish the night wondering whether your rental counter is still open. For a late-night car rental pickup at JFK, choose around the location’s operating hours—not just your scheduled landing time. Avis lists its JFK location as open 24 hours; Enterprise lists daily hours of 5 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Reconfirm those hours with the location before your trip.

Landing isn’t the same as reaching the counter. JFK’s rental cars are at Federal Circle, which you reach by AirTrain from any terminal. The ride between the terminals and Federal Circle is free. Leave room in your pickup plan for getting off the plane, collecting bags and making that transfer, plus immigration if it applies to your arrival.

A near-midnight arrival deserves particular attention if you’re considering Enterprise. Its published closing time leaves little margin for a late flight or slow baggage delivery. Ask the branch whether your expected counter-arrival time works and what happens if you arrive after closing. Don’t assume that a reservation means someone will wait.

Avis’s published 24-hour schedule gives you another option to investigate for an overnight arrival, but counter hours and reservation handling are separate questions. Before booking, ask how the branch handles delayed flights, whether it needs your flight number and what to do if your arrival slips into the next calendar day. Get those answers for your specific reservation rather than treating an open counter as a pickup guarantee.

Save the local contact details before you fly: Avis lists 718-244-5400, and Enterprise lists 844-648-1609. If a delay threatens your pickup, contact the supplier as soon as you can and ask it to confirm your next step. If late collection isn’t available, arrange another way to reach your accommodation and confirm when you can collect the car instead.

Also save your supplier’s actual pickup instructions. Enterprise’s JFK page directs you from Federal Circle to the National/Alamo rental facility, where an Enterprise representative assists with collection. That’s a useful detail to have on your phone when you’re tired: follow the branch instructions, not just the logo you expected to see.
