Your flight lands after midnight, and you still need to collect a car. For a late-night car rental pickup at ATL, the useful answer is supplier-specific: Avis lists its airport counter as open 24 hours daily, while Hertz lists a daily gap between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Check the hours for your actual rental company before you plan an overnight pickup.
Both companies list their ATL location at 2200 Rental Car Center Parkway in College Park. Sharing an address doesn’t mean sharing opening hours. Hertz’s published schedule runs from midnight to 2 a.m. and from 5 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. each day; Avis explicitly says its counter is open around the clock. Recheck those listings close to your trip, since hours can change.
Plan around when you can reach the counter, not just when the plane is scheduled to land. Allow room for getting off the aircraft, collecting checked bags and reaching the Rental Car Center. If you’re considering Hertz and your arrival leaves little margin before 2 a.m., ask the location whether your planned pickup is workable rather than assuming you’ll make it.
Before departure, ask your supplier two separate questions: how late can you collect the car, and how long will it hold your reservation if your flight is delayed? A counter being open doesn’t, by itself, answer the second question. Also ask whether adding your flight number helps staff track a delay; don’t assume it automatically protects your pickup.
Save the location’s phone number with your confirmation. Hertz lists +1 404-530-2925, and Avis lists +1 404-763-6333. If a delay threatens your pickup time, contact your supplier as soon as you can and ask what happens to your reservation, whether a later pickup is possible and whether any charges would change.
Have a fallback before you board: decide whether you’d use other transportation to your lodging and collect a car later if necessary. Confirm that arrangement with your supplier first, including where and when collection would happen. That’s a much calmer decision to make before a flight than with your suitcase beside a closed counter.
