You've found a car for your New York trip, but is the pickup branch actually at JFK? Before you book, check the location name and street address—not just the rental-company logo. JFK rental car pickup is at Federal Circle, which you can reach by AirTrain from any terminal.

Treat the pickup location as a separate check from the car class. On Booking.com, review the branch shown in the offer before confirming, then check it again on your confirmation. You're looking for a pickup location that matches your arrival plan, rather than relying on a broad New York search.

Federal Circle is the airport's rental-car area, but individual companies list their own addresses. Avis lists its JFK branch at 305 Federal Cir, Jamaica, NY 11430. Enterprise lists 308 Federal Cir, Jamaica, NY 11430. A Jamaica mailing address alone doesn't mean you've chosen a branch away from JFK.

Save a screenshot of your confirmation with the supplier, pickup address, date and time visible. Compare that address with the supplier's official JFK location page. If the details don't match, ask for clarification before traveling rather than assuming another branch of the same company can hand over your car.

If you spot a mismatch after booking, use the help or change options provided with your reservation. Ask whether the pickup location can be changed and whether that affects the total or vehicle availability. Don't cancel and rebook until you understand the terms. ROAM explains the process; it doesn't handle reservations, changes or payments.

Once your branch is confirmed, plan the terminal transfer. JFK says Federal Circle is accessible by AirTrain from every terminal, and Enterprise confirms that trips between the terminals and Federal Circle are free. Keep your branch details handy for the next step after you leave the train.

If you're already at JFK and still unsure where to go, contact the listed branch before heading elsewhere. The airport lists Avis at 718-244-5400 and Enterprise at 844-648-1609, alongside contacts for other suppliers. Have your confirmation ready and ask the practical question: 'Does this reservation show pickup at your JFK branch?'
