You’ve collected your bags, but your rental company’s directions describe one bus color and the airport describes another. Which DFW rental car shuttle should you take? DFW’s official shuttle tracker page says to board the purple Rental Car Center shuttle at a designated stop outside your terminal. It’s a shared service, so you don’t need to hunt for a bus branded with your rental company’s name.

From baggage claim, follow the Rental Car signs to the designated pickup area on the terminal’s lower level. The airport lists the Rental Car Center at 2424 E. 38th Street, near its south entrance. For terminal-to-center directions, use the airport’s shuttle page rather than relying only on a street address in your reservation.

The conflicting colors are real: Enterprise’s DFW location page describes a blue-and-white shuttle, while DFW’s dedicated shuttle page identifies it as purple. Use the airport’s shuttle guidance and the designated Rental Car Center stop signs together. If you’re unsure you’re in the right place, DFW lists its shuttle team at 972-574-7878.

DFW says the shuttle is free for rental car customers and operates around the clock, every day of the year. Its dedicated shuttle page lists service every eight minutes, while its general rental-car page says departures are every 10–15 minutes. Treat those as planning guidance, not a guaranteed wait, and open the official shuttle tracker when you’re ready to leave the terminal.

A running shuttle doesn’t mean your rental counter is open. For example, Enterprise’s supplied DFW listing shows daily counter hours of 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., even though the airport shuttle runs overnight. If your flight lands late or gets delayed, check your supplier’s hours for your pickup date and ask how it handles an arrival after closing. Don’t assume that a 24-hour Rental Car Center means 24-hour vehicle pickup.

If you need help boarding, DFW says all of its rental car shuttles are ADA accessible, meaning they’re designed to accommodate passengers with disabilities. Let the driver know you need assistance. If you also need particular equipment or adaptations in the rental vehicle, confirm those separately with your supplier before traveling.

Before returning the car, save your airline’s departure terminal and your supplier’s return instructions. You’ll need time for the vehicle handoff and the shuttle transfer, not just the drive to the airport. Keep your rental details and the official shuttle page handy so you’re not sorting out directions with a suitcase in each hand.
