DFW Late-Night Car Rental: Check Your Counter’s Hours
For a late-night car rental at DFW, confirm your supplier’s pickup hours—not just the airport’s 24-hour Rental Car Center access.

Your flight lands late, and you still need the keys to get to your hotel. The useful distinction for a late-night car rental at DFW is this: the Rental Car Center is open 24 hours, but that doesn’t mean your rental company’s counter is. Before booking, check whether the supplier can actually hand over your car when you’ll arrive at the desk.
DFW’s official airport page describes a 24-hour Rental Car Center. Enterprise’s DFW location page, however, lists daily hours of 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. That’s a concrete example of why building access and rental pickup hours aren’t interchangeable. Confirm the location’s hours for your travel date rather than assuming every company follows the same schedule.
Plan around reaching the rental desk, not your flight’s scheduled touchdown. You still need to get off the plane, collect any checked bags and transfer to the center. If your flight is scheduled close to the counter’s closing time, ask the location whether that leaves enough time to complete pickup.
Before you commit, ask three specific questions: What’s the latest time I can collect the car? What happens if my flight is delayed? Is any after-hours pickup available for my reservation, and what would I need to do? Don’t treat an after-hours return option as confirmation that you can also pick up after closing.
If your flight slips later, contact the rental company or use the support route listed on your Booking.com confirmation as soon as you can. Give your revised arrival time and ask whether the reservation needs updating. Keep any confirmed instructions handy; don’t assume that a late arrival automatically means someone will wait.
The airport transfer itself operates overnight: DFW says its shared purple Rental Car Center shuttles run 24/7 and are free for rental customers. That gets you to the facility, but it doesn’t resolve a closed-counter problem. If pickup can’t be confirmed, arrange another way to your lodging and ask how to handle collection the next day.
Before departure, save your supplier’s local phone number, reservation confirmation and any late-arrival instructions somewhere you can open easily. ROAM helps you prepare; bookings happen on Booking.com. For a delayed-flight problem, follow your confirmation’s support instructions and confirm pickup arrangements directly with the rental location.
