Can you tow a trailer with a rental car from LAS?
Avis prohibits towing with its LAS rentals, so confirm your supplier’s rules before choosing a vehicle for a trailer trip.

Planning to tow a trailer with a rental car from LAS? Check permission before you choose the vehicle: Avis’s Harry Reid International Airport location explicitly prohibits towing. If you’re renting there, choosing a larger SUV doesn’t get around that restriction.
For another rental company, don’t assume the same answer—or assume towing is allowed. Ask the specific pickup location whether your intended use is permitted under its rental agreement. Explain what you want to tow and ask where the applicable rule appears in the terms.
Keep permission and vehicle capability separate. A vehicle’s advertised towing capability doesn’t tell you what a rental agreement allows. Likewise, seeing a hitch on the vehicle wouldn’t establish permission. For Avis at LAS, the published prohibition is the deciding point.
If another supplier permits your planned towing use, then ask how it will confirm a suitable vehicle and the required equipment. A class reservation described as “or similar” isn’t a promise of one particular model. Don’t build your trailer plans around the example vehicle pictured during booking.
Resolve those questions before taking the airport shuttle. The LAS Rent-A-Car Center is at 7135 Gilespie Street, three miles south of the airport. Treat pickup as the final check of an already-confirmed plan, not the first time you ask whether a trailer is allowed.
If you discover a towing prohibition at the counter, don’t connect the trailer and hope it’s acceptable. Change the transport plan instead: ask a separate provider for a vehicle and agreement that explicitly permit your intended towing use, or arrange to move the trailer separately. Confirm availability and terms rather than assuming a replacement will be waiting.
